Most of Minnesota’s Gun Deaths Are Suicides

“This is why I work to protect Minnesota. My husband would be with me today had that gun not been two feet away from him.”

Minnesota had 356 firearm suicides in 2018, or nearly one per day. Most of Minnesota’s gun suicides are white men; Greater Minnesota has a higher suicide rate than the 7-county metro area.
